Jacqui Atkin
Jacqui makes burnished, smoke and resist Raku fired forms using various hand building techniques.

Inspiration for form and pattern is drawn from many sources including ethnic textiles and artefacts but most especially the woodland environment in which she lives in rural Shropshire where there is an ever changing supply of visual stimulation.

Jacqui is a professional member of the Draft Potter's Association and the author of two ceramic books: 'Pottery Basics' which teaches all the basic ceramic making and decorating techniques and 'Hand Built Pottery Techniques Revealed' which, as the title suggests demonstrates hand building methods. Another book on tile making and decorating is currently in production with further titles to follow.

Before moving to Shropshire, Jacqui taught ceramics in college and in the NHS mental health service as an Art (Clay!) therapist.
